Pick up a BINGO card at Gardiner Library (available starting late June). Complete a line on your card bring back to the library by August 28 to win a free book and ice cream from Stewart's Shops. 


Teen Tarot Meetup with Amy & Laura

Let’s explore the cards together! In this relaxed, welcoming meetup, we’ll use tarot and oracle cards as tools for self-discovery, creative expression, and connecting with our intuition. Together, we’ll interpret the imagery and symbolism through our own unique perspectives in an inclusive, nonjudgmental space.

A small selection of tarot and oracle decks will be available to use, and you’re welcome to bring your own decks to read with and share.

Open to teens ages 15–18.

Jewelry Lab with Heather Kort

Come experiment with beads, wire, fabric, string, paper, pliers, bench blocks and hammers to make a variety of wearable art! Tables will be set up with unique stations; this lab setting will allow students to make what interests them most. Part of the fun will include the option to make our own beads.

Students should come dressed comfortably. Parents, please send your child in with a healthy snack and water bottle if you feel they may get hungry.

Heather has an AAS in Fashion Design from FIT, a Masters in Art Education, and is certified to teach art in NYS, grades K-12. She taught elementary and high school art for 8 years, and currently teaches Continuing Education art classes through the New Paltz Central School District. Heather enjoys making things, and also loves to help children make things!


Introduction to Babysitting

Kathleen Tucker is a 1st grade teacher. She holds three teacher certifications including Early Childhood, General Education and Special Education and a Master’s Degree in Literacy.
In this Introduction to Babysitting Course, participants will learn interviewing tips, communication skills, ages and stages of young babies and toddlers, safety and first aid tips, and feeding and caring for children, including diaper changing. A simple test will be administered at the completion of the course and certificates of completion will be distributed.

Babysitters have the responsibility of caring for children and making important decisions while they are in charge. Parents entrust their child with the babysitter, therefore, it is crucial he or she knows the basics of child care.


Hands-On Archeology with Mohonk Preserve

Join a Mohonk Preserve environmental educator to explore archaeological artifacts from the Hudson Valley region! Investigate the materials of daily life, including the chronology of projectile points, tools and their function, and reconstructed artifacts. We'll discuss pestles, awls, hammerstones, spear points, pottery, and more! 


Stitch Sew Lab with Heather Kort

Come experiment with fabric, felt, thread, embroidery floss and embellishments to make something special! It’s ok if you don’t know how to sew with a needle and thread- we will teach you! There will be a variety of fabrics, threads and supplies to choose from.

Chess Club

Meets first and third Wednesdays

Open to all ages and all levels.

Community Service

Teens (ages 13 to 18) can earn community service hours at the Gardiner Library by shelving books, organizing materials, collection development help, maintaining cleanliness, assisting with library programs, creating displays, working on various projects throughout the year and more. Teens are also welcome to "pitch" new ideas as well.
