Tax-Advantaged Giving

With 501(c)(3) charitable organization status, the Gardiner Library can accept several types of tax-advantaged donations. Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) enable a direct transfer of funds from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) and could help satisfy some or all of your Required Minimum Distributions (RMD’s). Another option is to donate ‘appreciated’ stocks, allowing the owner to avoid capital gains taxes on the gain as well as possibly providing an itemized deduction on taxes.

For further information on tax-advantaged giving to the Gardiner Library, consult your financial advisor or see Nicole Lane, Gardiner Library Director, for the name of a local financial advisor who has generously offered their counsel on this issue free of charge.
