Guitar 1: Small Group Guitar Lessons For Kids 5-8 Yrs.

Space limited to 5 students per series. Registration for all 4 weeks required.
Students must already be at least 5 years old when class begins.

Please note that no refunds will be issued beginning 2 weeks prior to the start date of each session due to limited space availability.

No guitar needed for this series! Classroom guitars are now provided through a generous donation by the Neal Casal Music Foundation. 

No experience required. Students may also repeat Guitar 1 series to gain additional practice.

Small group guitar lessons with Amy Laber (Gardiner Library’s “Miss Amy”). Beginner guitar lessons for young children with a gentle, playful approach. We will learn the parts of a guitar, and explore basic musical concepts such as beat, rhythm and pitch. Students will approach learning individual notes on the guitar and simple chords.

Starting guitar lessons at an early age can help children to develop patience and self-confidence, improve coordination and concentration, learn a new skill, and make new friends!

It is recommended that students bring small three ring binder to organize handouts.

Students must complete a full 4 weeks of Guitar 1 as a prerequisite to this class. Guitar 2 series is designed to be repeated for additional practice and further learning.

Continuation of Guitar 1 with Miss Amy. Beginner students 5-8 years old will explore fundamental elements of learning how to play guitar. We will continue to learn individual notes, simple chords, and approach strumming with familiar songs. The focus of this series is to get young children interested and excited about learning to play guitar and to prepare for private lessons as they grow.
