Tuesday, July 29th at 6 pm

Free for all ages.

The Gardiner Library will host stock car racer Tommy Johnson and one of his stock cars for a talk on the library grounds. Tommy has been stock car dirt track racing for seven years.  He was the 2007 Rookie of the Year at the Accord Speedway and the Pure Stock Champion there in 2009. In 2011 he also started racing at the Lebanon Valley Speedway, where he won the main event: the fifty lap "Fall Brawl,” and won the New York State Stock Car Association’s Rookie of the Year. In 2013, he won the Sportsman Cup race, and missed the track championship by only one point, after leading the entire season.  He received the New York State Stock Car Association’s 2013 Outstanding Performance Award. Tommy was a driver in the racing scenes for the independent film "Rocksteady,” which is currently on Netflix.
