R.E.A.D. Program
The Reading Education Assistance Dogs (R.E.A.D.) program improves children’s reading and communication skills by employing a powerful method: reading to dogs. R.E.A.D. dogs are registered therapy animals who volunteer with their handlers as a team going into schools and libraries. Animals are ideal reading companions because they do not judge, laugh or criticize, they allow children to proceed at their own pace and they listen attentively.
Free.
All sessions are during after-school hours between 4:30 and 5:45 PM.
Call the library for more information and to sign up.
